- Compress PDF: shrink a PDF, or hit a target such as 200 KB.
Common PDF problems, and the quick fix
- "My PDF is too big to upload." Use Compress PDF and set a target size such as 200 KB.
- "I need to sign a form." Use the PDF Editor: add your signature, type into the fields and tick the boxes.
- "I need to change the text in a PDF." Convert it with PDF to Word, edit it, then save as PDF again.
- "I have several files and the portal takes one." Join them with Merge PDF.
- "My photos need to become a PDF." Use JPG to PDF or PNG to PDF.
- "Some pages are upside down." Use Rotate PDF.
Why use browser-based PDF tools?
There is nothing to install, so they work on any phone or computer with a browser. Most of them run on your own device, which keeps documents such as CVs, certificates and IDs private, and they keep working offline once the page has loaded. There are no watermarks and no accounts.

Are the tools really free?
Yes. Everything is free with no sign-up and no watermark. The only limit is on Word, PowerPoint and Excel conversions: you get three free a day. Everything else is unlimited.
Are my files safe?
Most tools (editor, merge, split, compress, image conversions) run inside your browser and never upload your file. The Word, PowerPoint, Excel and PDF to Word converters use a server and delete your file as soon as it is converted.
Do the tools work on a phone?
Yes. They run in your phone's browser, so there is no app to install.
How do I make a PDF smaller for an online application?
Use Compress PDF and enter the size you need, for example 200 KB.
Can I edit a PDF for free?
You can add text, signatures, ticks and pictures with the free PDF editor. To rewrite existing text, convert the PDF to Word first or use Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Free tools or Adobe Acrobat Pro?
For everyday jobs the free tools are enough. Acrobat Pro is for heavier work: rewriting existing text, scanned documents (OCR), permanently removing private details and password protection.
